This is a very sad announcement, but I feel I have to do it: I will stop writing weekly blog posts for a while. I am nearing the end of my Kenyan adventure and fieldwork and I notice I have too many different things to do to do them all well. It is best that I focus on doing the things really well which I have to do while still in Kenya, such as collecting the last data for my research. Back in the Netherlands, I can focus to re-start all the other things such as writing weekly blog posts. Don’t worry! The ideas are there, just not the mental capacity to execute them. Let’s hope I will feel as peaceful as I did on top of that mountain often while I’m finishing of my work here!
You can follow me on Instagram or Deviantart for infrequent updates because I am more likely to update there. Dropping some pictures takes less effort than writing a blogpost. Also, I will miss interacting with all the friends I met online, so I will also try to keep the monthly sewing update going, but no promises.
In the meantime, here are some of my best blog posts to read while I’m gone.
- The Dear Jane hand quilting sampler introduction
- New year resolutions: finish it SAL project list
- It’s my birthday and wow what a year
- How to make a turtle rag quilt
- 10 years from now I’ll be a tree
- How to turn a faux leather coat into a peek-a-bookbag
- I am designing quilt patterns: Kenyan quilt update
For now, be good, and I will miss you all. And who knows, maybe there will be a whole new me when I’m back (I’m planning to re-design my website because I’m not totally happy with it). I won’t disappear completely, because I will read as many of your posts as possible.
See my DeviantArt or Instagram (username: bella.g.bear.art) for more artwork and WIPs. You can also follow my blog by clicking on the button on the left or by filling in your email address. There will be a monthly update at the end of every month and a new blogpost every Sunday or Monday.
